WHY ISCAVENGER
Economic development, urbanization and improved living standards in cities have significantly enhanced the quantity and complexity of solid waste.

Mixed-waste processing remains a challenging task requiring huge logistics for its processing.
A large part of waste segregation today is manual driven, requiring huge manpower working 24×7 for sorting waste into different categories. The working conditions are generally very challenging having a high possibility of exposure to a hazardous environment.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE
In our quest to empower enterprises with AI and Computer Vision in a safe, sustainable way, DVIEW has partnered with VINGLABS to develop an AI powered segregation solution for automatic segregation of solid waste with focus on one-time use plastics and plastic packets.
The team (mainly Jasdeep, Vaibhav and Vikrant) have gone through a painstaking process of
- Developing an extensive image dataset of plastic waste
- Developing a computer vision object detection algorithm based on Deep Learning
- System supports about 26 different brands and their variants
- Developing a prototype conveyor belt and mechanical segregator
We are now progressing towards trying the technology in commercial waste segregation facilities.
